2/14/2024
HARRISBURG - Fire and emergency response organizations in the 59th Legislative District have been awarded nearly $320,000 in grants from the state, Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) announced today.

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue.

“First responders not only risk their lives, but they also sacrifice much of their time to protect our communities,” said Rossi. “We thank all our first responders, from our firefighters, paramedics and other emergency and rescue professionals. An investment in our first responders is an investment that benefits everyone.”
