HARRISBURG – Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced local funding through the Career and Technical Education Equipment Grants Program.
Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technical Center will receive $84,945 in funding to expand and improve access to first-class equipment and educational advantages for their students.
“I am pleased to have advocated for this local funding,” said Rossi. “It’s a priority to offer multiple avenues for students to demonstrate educational achievement, especially students enrolled in career and technical education. It is imperative we train our students with the needs of our economy, and right now that need includes more individuals with skills in trades.”
More than $4 million in competitive grants were awarded to 55 career and technical centers (CTCs) and school districts in the Commonwealth.
There are more than 80 CTCs in Pennsylvania that offer a combination of classes and hands-on learning programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Thousands of students earn industry credentials or certifications for local jobs in high demand, so they graduate on a path to success.
