HARRISBURG - Understanding the crucial role a safe and healthy learning environment plays in the success of students, Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced $1 million in funding will be allocated to Ligonier Valley School District through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Public School Facility Improvement Grant program. This grant will help support critical upgrades to the high school’s HVAC system, ensuring a safer, healthier and more conducive environment for students, teachers and staff.
“Every student deserves to learn in a space where their health and safety are prioritized,” said Rossi. “This investment in Ligonier Valley School District will ensure the HVAC system meets modern standards for air quality and safety. I’m proud to have secured this funding to support the long-term well-being of our children and educators.”
The grant will fund a comprehensive HVAC project at the high school facility. It will improve air quality, regulate humidity levels and reduce the risk of mold growth and fire hazards. The new units will also recover energy from the building’s exhaust air to condition incoming fresh air, making the system more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Public School Facility Improvement Grant program is a critical resource for public school districts, providing the necessary funding to make essential upgrades that ensure facilities are well-equipped for the demands of modern education. These improvements will help schools stay in excellent condition, better serving the needs of students and preparing them for success in the 21st century.
