HARRISBURG – Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced the Latrobe-Unity Youngstown Parks and Recreation Commission has been awarded a $240,600 grant for the rehabilitation of the Rogers McFeely Memorial Pool in Latrobe Borough, through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).
“This grant is a key step in improving the quality of life for families in Latrobe and surrounding communities,” said Rossi. “The renovation of the Rogers McFeely Memorial Pool will provide a safe, accessible space for recreation and help meet the needs of our growing community. By adding a splash pad and improving the pool’s infrastructure, we are creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages to enjoy, especially during the summer months.”
The project will include the construction of a new splash pad, installation of a modern filtration and recirculation system, improvements to ADA accessibility, landscaping and the installation of a project sign to acknowledge the grant funding.
The C2P2 program, which is administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, provides financial and technical assistance to local governments, nonprofits, and organizations for the planning, acquisition, and development of parks, recreation, conservation, and greenways projects.
