HARRISBURG – Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced schools across the 59th Legislative District have been awarded nearly $857,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC).
“Ensuring the safety of our students and teachers is a top priority,” said Rossi. “These grants will help local schools strengthen security, improve mental health resources and create a safer learning environment for students. Every child deserves to feel safe and supported in school.
School districts in the 59th District received the following school safety and mental health grants:
• Derry School District – $134,301.
• Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technical Center – $70,000.
• Greater Latrobe School District – $164,631.
• Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School – $70,000.
• Ligonier Valley School District – $126,094.
• Mount Pleasant School District – $136,510.
The following nonpublic schools in the 59th District received targeted school safety grants:
• Champion Christian School, North Campus – $5,000.
• Christ the Divine Teacher School – $75,000.
• Valley School of Ligonier – $75,000.
The PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee awards grants to schools and organizations across Pennsylvania to improve safety measures and provide essential mental health services for students and staff.
