Rossi Announces State Funding for Westmoreland County Historical Organizations

WESTMORELAND - Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced several local historical and cultural institutions have been awarded $62,500 in state funding through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program.

“These investments strengthen the organizations that preserve our region’s story,” said Rossi. “Their work safeguards the places, artifacts and educational experiences that keep Westmoreland County’s history vibrant and accessible for generations to come.”
The following organizations received funding:

Fort Ligonier Association – $30,000
Funding will support general operating expenses, including staff salaries and marketing efforts that promote year-round educational programming.
Ligonier Valley Historical Society – $7,500
Funds will help offset operational costs such as utilities, ensuring continued preservation and interpretation of the Compass Inn Museum and other historic assets.
Westmoreland Fayette Historical Society/West Overton Village – $25,000
Support will be used for part-time staff salaries to maintain daily operations and continue offering immersive educational programs. (Funding advocated jointly with Reps. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland), Jill Cooper (R-Westmoreland), Brian Rasel (R-Westmoreland), Eric Nelson (R-Westmoreland), Abby Major (R-Armstrong/Westmoreland), Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) and Ryan Warner (R-Fayette.)

The Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program which provides general operating support to museums and official county historical societies.
