Rossi Announces Investment in 59th District School Safety, Student Support

HARRISBURG - Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) today announced schools and educational organizations in the 59th Legislative District will receive a combined $970,653 in School Safety and Mental Health Grants through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee.
The grants will help local schools and educational organizations address safety needs, strengthen security measures, and expand behavioral health resources and support for students and staff.
“Safe, supportive schools give students the best opportunity to learn and succeed,” said Rossi. “These grants will help our schools strengthen security while addressing the behavioral health needs of students and staff. Investing in the safety and well-being of our school communities is an investment in our children and our future, and I’m pleased to see nearly $1 million coming directly to the 59th District.”
The schools and educational organizations receiving funding are:
• Derry Area School District - $179,216.
• Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School - $70,000.
• Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technical School - $70,000.
• Greater Latrobe School District - $241,552.
• Ligonier Valley School District - $157,991.
• Mount Pleasant Area School District - $181,894.
• Westmoreland Intermediate Unit 7 - $70,000.
The funding is administered through PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee, which supports programs designed to improve school safety and security, strengthen behavioral health supports, and provide training and technical assistance to schools across Pennsylvania.
